Billboard's Top 100 had four songs predominantly in Spanish by 2016 compared to two in 2015. At the peak of Despacito's popularity, however 19 mostly Spanish songs made it into the top 100 In 2020, there were 41 songs. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with a Spanish-language version in 2017. In the year following, the most well-known artists began collaborating with reggaeton artists.
